For years I have tried desperately to remove the hard water deposits on my toilets. It was made worse because the previous owners used those toilet cleaners that turn the water blue. My toilets were striped with this blue ink. No matter how hard I scrubbed, I couldn't get the stain off.
One day I found a product called Pumie Scouring Stick. It is the BEST tool I have ever used for removing stains, mineral deposits, rust and algae deposits on porcelain, concrete, masonry and iron. It removed that blue stain with so little effort, I couldn't believe it.
If you want to get your toilets sparkling clean, I highly recommend this product. It's nothing more than 100% pumice so it's completely safe and nontoxic.

Just wondering, would the Mr. Clean Eraser work about the same as this pumice product? I'm curious because I was bad and grabbed one as an impusle buy. Trying to rationalize my purchase now. :-(

Angela: The Eraser isn't a wasted purchase. I've used it on the baked-on grease on my oven windows and doors.
I don't know if it'll work on mineral deposits. But that pumice stone was so fast I couldn't believe it. One swipe and it sparkled.
They're relatively cheap. I found mine at a garage sale, but I've seen them at Wally world too.

Good tip, hate using chemicals.
The Eraser for oven, is this fresh baked on grease you're cleaning or buildup over years Maria?
The double electric ovens I inherited are still needing some TLC but cannot use Easy Off or will end up in ER from the fumes. I bought some Borax to make a cleaning paste for the oven that is not "self-cleaning", then read it can damage skin on contact and as I am clumsy when cleaning have so far only used it to freshen the garbage disposal side of the drain in kitchen sink.

Jackie: It was the oven repair man who showed me to use the Eraser. The grease was baked on from the previous owner so it had been there for a while.
He dampened the sponge and just made tiny circles on the grime. It is harder than it shows in the commercials, but it does work.

Good to know Maria, scrubbing a while is no problem but the headache and nausea from chemicals is.
I am assuming the eraser has no odor?

It has no odor that I'm aware of, and I'm kind of a canary when it comes to chemicals.

OK. I am convinced, gnight.

I'll have to see if I can find this Maria. Nothing we've tried in our guest bath seems to work.
I love Bon Ami but haven't been able to find it in a couple years. One of those products that had been around for decades -- if not a century, LOL -- and worked on just about everything without scratching!

Hey guys, just a warning, I have a friend who received a chemical burn from them. Granted a few years ago so it's possible they've reformulated the product.

Raelyn: I cannot sing the praises of that pumice stone enough. It worked beautifully. And so easy.

Sounds like the manufacturer added a warning according to Snopes. http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/eraser.asp

I even went so far as looking up YouTube videos on how to get my toilets clean because I just can't get some stains out.

Linda, Jennifer: It works. I guarantee it. I was never so happy to find this product. My toilet bowls are gleaming.
